- The percentage of population under the poverty line in Australia was 13.9% in 2014.
- This was a lot of people who were in poverty, which is not good.
- People in poverty do not have a lot of money or items.
- Percentage of Population Under the Poverty Line:
- In Australia, around October 2014, there was 13.9% of people under the poverty line. In the United States, around 2010, there was 15.1% of people under the poverty line. Just because the poverty scale is not that good for both of the countries, the United States and the Australian governments will try to do labor force which will force their people to work. This will help increase their employment percentage which will help with their GDP. This percentage may also result towards people choosing to become discouraged workers because they are sick of not finding a job which may increase the poverty scales for both of them because these countries have big populations which increases the competition for people to find jobs. Comparing Australia’s population to the United States' population, because United States has a bigger population they are more likely to have discouraged workers.
